KC Irish Fest 2026: Music, Jigs, and a Wild Storm

Well, KC Irish Fest 2026 gave downtown Kansas City one hot, happy Labor Day weekend. The fiddles were flying, bagpipes were loud, and people were dancing in the crowd even when the heat felt like it was trying to win.

The festival ran September 4 through September 6, 2026. Official 2026 listings placed it at Crown Center and Washington Square Park, with live music, Irish dancing, cultural programs, food, drinks, shopping, and plenty for families to do.

If you are planning ahead for a future festival, keep this one on your Kansas City weekend list.

KC Irish Fest 2026 Dates, Hours, and Crown Center Location

The 2026 festival schedule gave everyone three full days to wander, eat, listen, and probably buy a sweater even though it was 90-something degrees outside.

  • Friday, September 4: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Saturday, September 5: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Sunday, September 6: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Crown Center and Washington Square Park were the officially listed downtown locations. The Brady Brunch was indoors on Crown Center’s third floor, while the Irish Comedy Show was in the Ruby Room at Crown Center Shops.

The festival’s official FAQ and hours are always the best place to check before you leave home. We heard talk that the festival might not return to Crown Center next year, but no official source had confirmed a new venue. Don’t make plans around rumors.

What to Know Before You Go to the Festival Grounds

KC Irish Fest uses both outdoor and indoor spaces, so comfy shoes are a must. Bring sun protection, water, and a little patience for moving through a busy festival crowd.

Before heading downtown, check the final schedule, parking and transportation updates, weather forecast, accessibility details, and entry rules. Kansas City weather can change its mind quickly, sometimes before you have finished your whiskey coffee.

A festival weekend can start with blazing sunshine and end with everyone heading for cover. Have a weather backup plan.
